when a butterfly flaps its wings ...
:: life is a boomerang
"There is a branch of science, known as Chaos, that studies systems where a small change in inputs can have substantial changes in outputs. Weather is one such system, and researchers joke about the Butterfly Effect: where an insect flapping its wings on one continent is the cause of a storm on another several weeks later."
i am not a religious man but i do believe in a superior force, more natural than supernatural, that maintains the balance in this world. day and night; summer and winter; fall and spring; fire and water; heat and cold - everything in our world revolves around extremes and an equilibrating pendulum that in my humble perception seems to hold and gel it all together.
ahriman and ahura mazda (good vs. evil), love and hate, passsion and warfare, the ironic powerful strength of seemingly small gestures. how many times have i seen twists of fate and swift reversal of roles in all walks of life: relationships, business negotiations, international diplomacy? i am always impressed how fast the hunter can become the hunted or a bully turn into a victim...
"fait aux autres ce que tu veux qu'on te fasse"
all this to say, that one day you may think that you have the upper hand, just to realize that it was really not worth the fight and a potentially tender moment is lost forever.
it is in that belief, that i seek to not waste my time to get mad, or to get even - i try to simply maintain my pace and stay on my path, and to enjoy the journey: this is maybe why i miss those that hurt me most.
