Che dolce far niente
:: am in dire need for a break, but loving it all!

Yeah! Well it took me more than a few minutes to wrestle with the new version of the blogger... and finally it seems to be working the way it was programmed to... odd enough, it finally posted my July 10th blog oggi!

Kewl! Now that this blogger thang is easy to use once again, time for an update!

Well, great enhancements to CIMTI coming right up whenever my dear Cosmin comes back from the Cuban Sun - hope that Hurricane Claudette did not tamper too much with my campay's romantic escapade! For my curious - foozool - friends asking what is going on or what is coming up... it is my pleasure to announce: just wait till September!

On the Industrielle Alliance front, expect to be hitten with a little bit of mail coming from me soon. This month, I will be e-mailing all my friends to remind them to update their contact info and to use these lazy summer days to catch-up with all their personal and business plans for the year. As we all know, along with September's arrival, the day-to-day surprises can unleashed major skewes upon everybody's plans and budgets!

Don't tell this to anyone ;) , but I am planning a little Parisian escapade of my own mid-september to hook-up with my partner in crime and go down to one of my favourite cities in the World: Barcelona!

All that after we finalize a neogenera customer loyalty consulting gig at a major Quebec financial services firm (ah-ah, foozools will just have to wait!).

In case you did not know, since I do not have enough on my plate, on June 15th we (my father and I) took over the Hôtel du Vieux-Port, soon to be renamed Hôtel Champ-de-Mars. A cute little 28 room hotel operation set within a superb 1750-built building on Berri street in the Old Port district of historic Old-Montreal.

O joy! A daily ground-hog dose of 7 am to 11pm (if not later) work at the place has taught me a few lessons: any business can be learned within 90 days, employees are better at following instructions than serial entrepreneurs, hence better to delegate and to supervise the operations from a helicopter that can descend and elevate depending on the priority and gravity of each matter.

What else, what else! Thanks to Mr. David Garcia, Xpresto laundromat on Ste-Catherine East is under control and hopefully, Mr. Krakaris will soon allow us to help him manage the remainder of the locations under one Xpresto banner.

On the real estate front, the properties are doing fine and after the Hotel experience, we are convinced that a second and third hotel that we would like to purchase, will be smooth sailing now that we know how to run one! By the way, I heard through the grapevine that Essaris is building a hotel! I don't know where, but would like to find out! - so, if you got news, HOLLER!

Also, with the Hotel, we also inherited the Blues Café and started looking for Blues, Jazz and Funk bands or treos. So should you be an amateur, pass by and listen to Montreal's best live blues or if you want to play at the Blues Café, simply call at (514)844-0767 and ask for Fernando, who is in charge of programming the bands at the bar.

Obviously, now that we are done with this material update, my next blog will be focusing more on my spiritual state!

Ci vediamo e parlimo pronto! Ciao!
