Dettering suicide?
:: another mindless proposition for wasting our tax dollars

This morning, I heard yet another ridiculous proposition for wasting our tax dollars: installing anti-suicide barriers at the Jacques Cartier bridge in Montreal (Article appeared in the Montreal Gazette of Thursday, October 16th.)

Dettering suicides at the bridge means encouraging them to jump on our cars during rush hour madness in the highway.

Not to be insensitive, but someone who wishes to commit suicide seems to have their mind pretty much made. To encourage them to take the subway or the highway and ruin other people's lives on top of their close friends and family, is shifting the burden of their problems on the rest of the society.

What do you think?
